HMB Selected to Design Wastewater Treatment Plant and Collection System in Bracken County, KY

Projects
The Augusta Regional Sewer Authority (ARSA) selected HMB to design a new treatment plant, force mains, and pump stations to serve Augusta, Brooksville, and portions of Bracken County. Augusta and Brooksville both have existing wastewater treatment plants that have far exceeded their useful service life. Rather than each community building a new treatment plant, the regional approach was taken, and a single treatment plant will be built to serve both cities. This new treatment plant will serve approximately 960 customers and have a capacity of 690,000 gallons per day. This project includes construction of four (4) sewer pump stations and 52,000 linear feet of force mains that will convey the wastewater to the new treatment plant. The total project cost is estimated to be $12,450,000.

HMB Selected to Design Replacement of a Sewer Trunk Line for Murray, KY

Projects
  The City of Murray has selected HMB to design replacement trunk sewer lines in five (5) areas within the City’s sewer system. This project involves replacing trunk sewer lines that vary in size from 8” to 24”. Also, there are several brick manholes, and damaged concrete manholes within the project area that will be replaced. In addition to designing these sewer replacements, the design will investigate the need to upsize any of these trunk sewer lines.

HMB Receives National Recognition Award

HMB was presented on Tuesday with a National Recognition Award for its project, "Rising Above the Flood," a bridge replacement project in Falmouth, Ky. The award was presented by the American Council of Engineering Companies during its annual awards gala in Washington, D.C. For almost 85 years, one of the main gateways into the City of Falmouth (KY 22) involved crossing a narrow, two-lane truss structure that was often overwhelmed by a flooded Licking River. The "Shomakertown Bridge," named after the area located just east of Falmouth, was facing closure due to significant corrosion. KY 30 Reconstruction – Jackson & Owsley Counties, KY

HMB was selected today by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to provide preliminary engineering and environmental services for the reconstruction of KY 30 from US 421 in Jackson County to KY 847 in Owsley County. This section of KY 30 is part of the I-75 to Mountain Parkway corridor that runs from I-75 in London to the Mountain Parkway in Pine Ridge and will complete the corridor improvements in Jackson and Owsley counties. This project is not only important to the community, as it will provide a safe and more efficient corridor, thus enhancing the economic opportunities in the region, but also for HMB, as we have worked on multiple sections of this corridor already.

Paducah City Commission Meeting Highlights June 11, 2014 By Pam Spencer Representatives of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Canadian National Railroad, and HMB Professional Engineers, Inc. attended the City Commission meeting to discuss the Pines Road and North 34th Street project. That intersection, which includes a railroad crossing, has been identified as one of the eight most dangerous railroad crossings in Kentucky. Wes Mattingly with HMB says, “The purpose of this project is to improve safety.” Currently there is a railroad signal at the crossing. KYTC Statewide Pavement Rehabilitation

HMB was selected by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for the Statewide Pavement Rehabilitation contract.  Under this contract, HMB will develop plans and/ or construction documents for pavement rehabilitation projects on selected interstate, parkway, national highway system, and other arterial routes.  Rehabilitation of pavement on selected routes are needed to improve structural and functional capacity.
