Ronald Reagan Memorial Parkway (Lewis County, KY)

Home / Projects / Ronald Reagan Memorial Parkway (Lewis County, KY)

Located along the Ohio River and within an economically disadvantaged region of Kentucky; the Ronald Reagan Memorial Parkway provides direct access from Black Oak Industrial Park to the AA-Highway and Kentucky’s modern network of highways.  Prior to this project, truck traffic from the park had to travel along a narrow and winding KY 8 and through residential and commercial streets in downtown Vanceburg to reach the AA Highway.  The construction of this new route not only increased the opportunities for economic growth within the region but has dramatically improved safety for local residents by removing the large truck traffic from the downtown and residential areas.  Through preparation of preliminary and final design plans on the project, HMB assisted the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in providing a roadway geared toward economic development in a way that minimized impacts to both the human and natural environments.
