HMB was selected to develop preliminary, right-of-way, and construction plans for 12.7 miles of rural roadway for State Route 141 in Wilson and Trousdale Counties, TN. The project consisted of designing a new rural four-lane roadway section having a 48’ depressed median, 12’ travel lanes, 12’ outside shoulders, and 6’ inside shoulders. A new alignment was designed that either paralleled or followed the existing SR-141. The design included a new bridge crossing the Cumberland River. To facilitate final construction, HMB developed final plans that would allow one side, or two travel lanes, to be constructed. The remaining opposite side would be constructed in a separate phase in the future. Project 1 construction plans consisting of 3.1 miles for 2 of the ultimate 4-lane section were developed and completed in 2007. Project 2 construction plans were finished in 2010 and included 2 of the ultimate 4-lane for 3.8 miles up to the Wilson/Trousdale County line. This section is currently under construction.
