HMB was selected to develop preliminary, right-of-way, and construction plans consisting of new alignment for SR-15 to bypass the City of Lawrenceburg in Lawrence County, TN. The project also consisted of designing a new interchange to accommodate the new SR-15 alignment at SR-6. Plan development included drainage design, erosion control, traffic control, earthwork, and right-of-way. In addition, HMB provided the design of 7 sets of twin bridges, which was coordinated directly with TDOT Structures division. Four of these bridges involved significant multi-span structures crossing Pond Creek and Shoal Creek, and four other separate bridges involved railroad crossings at the Ucar Carbon facility near SR-6. Two bridges were architecturally modified hammerhead piers with heights up to 80 ft tall.
